Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. Pfeiffer was fun and Lucas Hedges was solid but this is not a good movie, it has a lot of contrary impulses that never develop into a coherent direction.

Kubrick was brilliant. Seen it a couple of times before. It’s not a personal favorite, but I love how it is made. My wife wanted to see it, so here we are.

Still got First Blood, Scarface and Blade Runner left from 82/83 on my run through the years, so ACO is a throwback that I wasn’t planning on.
