I started reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? last night. I’ve never been a huge fan of Bladerunner, so I’m not quite sure why I picked this up, but I can say that 20% in I like this waaaay better than the movie.

All of the stuff with animals that's front and center in the novel is like 10x more interesting than any of the lore in the movie. Also, I'm only 1/5 of the way in, but Decker in the novel seems like...well, he sort of seems like a loser. Not the sort of character that Harrison Ford could believably play at all.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:I’m with you 100%…i need to reread thatSimple Torture wrote:I started reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? last night. Re: What are you currently reading?

The English-language debut of one of Japan’s most exciting new writers, The Factory follows three workers at a sprawling industrial factory. Each worker focuses intently on the specific task they’ve been assigned: one shreds paper, one proofreads documents, and another studies the moss growing all over the expansive grounds. But their lives slowly become governed by their work—days take on a strange logic and momentum, and little by little, the margins of reality seem to be dissolving: Where does the factory end and the rest of the world begin? What’s going on with the strange animals here? And after a while—it could be weeks or years—the three workers struggle to answer the most basic question: What am I doing here?

Started this the other night on Kindle and about 20% in. It's fine! I hated Fortress of Solitude so I'm apprehensive, but I wanted a bedtime read I didn't have to think too hard about.

I don't understand your question. Why would our agreement about one author require any revision of my opinions?Mickey wrote:Joey how many of your positions will you have to revise if it turns out we agree about Jonathan Lethem?
