Worth the wait. This record is a monster.

I think I will do something similar soon but with a joint and my sennheiser headphones. Definitely haven't listened to the vinyl enough- thanks for the reminder.epilogue wrote:We're finally finished with our grand redecorating process. One new component is a music listening area. Guess I should put my opinion in here briefly. First four songs are excellent. The rest is meh by PJ standards, but those standards are of course high.

Alright is...alright. Probably near the median PJ song. I'm guessing it will be the designated concert opener off this album. Seven O'Clock I go back and forth on in my mind, yo-yoing between some interesting parts and some parts I lose attention on. Eager to see how it plays out live to see whether the crowd keeps consistent attention to it.Bammer wrote:I’ll see your tracks 1-4 and raise you tracks 5-6Green Habit wrote:Guess I should put my opinion in here briefly. I get the feeling River Cross will be played at about 1/3 of the shows on this tour during the first encore quieter set. Same with Comes Then Goes. I get the sense. Buckle Up will not be played very much but I could be wrong.
The first 4 songs, Seven O’Clock, Never Destination, Take the Long Way and Retrograde will be the standards in the set making 2/3 of the set lists. At least that’s my guess. You never know with Pearl Jam.

I could be proven wrong, but I expect they're barely ever going to play Who Ever Said or Take The Long Way.Got Some wrote:Who Ever Said SBWM DOTC Quick Escape Seven Oclock alright Take The Long Way Retrograde will be awesome live
Probably a handful of tentative performances before being put in the too hard basket.
Don't worry, they'll hardly ever play this one either.Got Some wrote:Buckle Up ... Piss break
Superblood Wolfmoon is probably going to be this album's World Wide Suicide: boppy Ed song that gets played every night during the touring cycle and barely gets a look-in afterward.
I can see Quick Escape hanging around in the future as a mid-set deep cut rocker, a Half Full for its time.

My memory is a bit jumbled, but didn't the band say they couldn't quite get this one right during tour rehearsals before everything was postponed?Birds in Hell wrote:I could be proven wrong, but I expect they're barely ever going to play Who Ever Said or Take The Long Way.Got Some wrote:Who Ever Said SBWM DOTC Quick Escape Seven Oclock alright Take The Long Way Retrograde will be awesome live

They should share notes with the Brazilian cover band Black Circle. They nailed that one pretty well.My memory is a bit jumbled, but didn't the band say they couldn't quite get this one right during tour rehearsals before everything was postponed?Monkey_Driven wrote:Superblood Wolfmoon is probably going to be this album's World Wide Suicide: boppy Ed song that gets played every night during the touring cycle and barely gets a look-in afterward.

You're right, but I still think Ed will want to play it every night.Monkey_Driven wrote:My memory is a bit jumbled, but didn't the band say they couldn't quite get this one right during tour rehearsals before everything was postponed?Birds in Hell wrote: Superblood Wolfmoon

I don’t think Who Ever Said will be very good live. I hope I’m wrong but i feel like Ed will yell his way through the chorus

I can see it going down the Getaway or GSMF path, where whatever happened in the studio just doesn't translate to the stage and they shelve it.
Too fast, too sloppy, played in a lower key, etc.
