FWIW, the 2 arenas are only 25 miles away as the crow flies. And it was the closest stop in that particular tour.
Only 25 miles? Have you ever driven from Long Island to New Jersey? thats a long 25 miles. Plus, Eastern/Northern? NJ isn't not nearly as red as long Island is.

True. But Nassau Coliseum and Meadowlands are two very distinct and well-known venues.
He might as well have shouted "HELLO MADISON SQUARE GARDEN!!! Isn't this where we shot our last DVD?"
I guess I was being generous and thinking that he fairly thought the people in the crowd were the same as the prior show, not the venue itself.
I confess I haven't actually listened to the show in question.
I have seen shows at both venues though neither were Pearl Jam. The Brendan Byrne Arena a/k/a a thousand other corporate names, or the arena most recently known as the IZOD Center is pretty nondescript to me. Nassau Coliseum isn’t that nice but it sort of reminds me of the Spectrum. My one show at Nassau Coliseum was Bruce Springsteen, my one show at IZOD was The Who, and my one show at the Spectrum was Pearl Jam if that makes any difference.
7/11/03 - It's been a few years since I put this on. I am floored by how good this band is and how fortunate we are to have been at this show. That preset is perfection and what really stood out this listen was Of the Girl, Thin Air and Parting Ways with Parting Ways being the clear winner of the set. I don't know why they don't play that song every other show. Lastly, I love the Heartbreaker lick Mike throws into the All or None solo. What a band!

With all the rarities thrown into that acoustic-ish set, Parting Ways didn’t get enough credit but it was awesome. The second 2.5 hours was also a lot of fun. At the height of my Pearl Jam neediness, I did show up to this with a list of songs, and they played most of them. What a time when I had nothing else to do. Nearly 18 years ago now…

We had tickets for Hershey, thinking it was the last show of the tour, and then when we heard about the "experiment" scrounged together enough change to make it to Boston. It was my 6th show of the tour and I was blown away by the main set. Songs like Ghost, Cropduster, and Breakerfall all held their won with older standards. The "Why Can't I Touch It" really grabbed me and of course the Arc performance. The other thing that stood out in how great they were playing at that point in the tour, what a special night it was and how great the Boston crowd can be was Jeremy to close out encore 1. When it started I thought it was a tough placement and was ready for disappoint, but it ended up being the best Jeremy I ever saw.

With you on all of that. It was a really fun show. Loved how they only played Yellow Ledbetter because no one would leave.
What.....a......show! I listened to this one only once (way back in 2001) and don't know why I haven't reached for it more often. A perfect show.

Back when I got all the CDs I remember listening to this show and being blown away, then getting to Seattle 1 and wondering what the hell happened. I will have to go back to this.
I was at this show and really enjoyed it, but knew it wasn't up there with what we all had just seen 2 years before. I didn't make it all the way through this listen. I skipped around.
This speaks to how great Pearl Jam is though. I took a friend who had never seen them and he thought it was the best rock show he'd ever seen. The two 20 somethings in front of me were hugging each other after the show, blown away by what Pearl Jam had just delivered.
