Little Miss Sunshine. Hadn't seen it in ~14 years. What an utterly brilliant film.

It's like we have the same Criterion watchlist.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Kind of a mixed bag, at least in the early days--I loved Le Petit Soldat but found Le Mepris tiresome, for instance. Interesting watching him evolve though. I should do a Bergman run too, I've only seen scattered films, and most of those ages ago.Malloy wrote:Mickey wrote:It's like we have the same Criterion watchlist.

I really think it depends on the movie--like I said above, I found Contempt to be just *so* dull but films like Breathless and Le Petit Soldat felt as fresh as ever.VinylGuy wrote:Of course he was a true visionary but i think i would die of boredom with any of his movies these days.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Thanks, I'll definitely check some of these! I didn't remember Insomnia was originally a Norwegian movie. I know it's not really on the topic, but I'd love to also hear some Norwegian music (sang in norwegian not in english). Maybe you could put some of your favorites to Other Bands?Anders wrote:Here are five movies I can easily recommend:contamination wrote:What are your all time favorite Norwegian movies Anders?Anders wrote:I also enjoyed his movie Eggs.tragabigzanda wrote:Kitchen Stories (Norway, 2003). The Devil Below
OK, I guess. It seems like every few years Hollywood tries to figure out a way to capture the conceptual world of Jeff Long's awesome hollow-earth horror novel The Descent but never seems to get it right.

Yeah I can't quite put my finger on what held it back from being great, but it was really good. Mendelsohn was fantastic.VinylGuy wrote:i liked this oneMickey wrote:Mississippi Grind.
