Unless you have flood insurance, you’re probably out of luck. Home insurance would cover it if it was a busted pipe or something.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I had a water issue years ago. Neighbor’s fault. She wouldn’t admit it. I didn’t wait around to argue, I got the shit done then argued with her when I got the bill.

Not waiting made that bill much lower than it would have been if waiting around.

hey man, just giving MD a head's up. maybe he gets it covered, but when my basement flooded a few years ago due to excessive rainfall, i was SOL. home insurance only covers what's within the walls.

My friend paid $70k to have his kitchen done last summer, but that involved moving plumbing and shit.

Here is my rundown:

Things done and paid for:
New stainless steel appliances - $7k
Wall removed, electrical moved, new lights added, island installed - $3.5k
Farmhouse sink, new faucet, and install $1k

Things not done but paid for:
Quartz countertops - $3.5k

Things not done and financed:
Cabinets - $28k

Cabinets won’t be ready until September. Once that is done, we’ll have a backsplash installed. I’m guessing that is $3k.

So around $46k, but a couple new lights, stools, and dining table will push it close to $50k. Isn’t it crazy how Tarek and Christina can do a full kitchen gut for under $20k?
