Because people actually listen to the guitars.
Is that a joke?
Not really. Most people are pretty passive about listening to the drums.
Except for ones that aren't, right?
I'll explain it to you.
Most people listen to music in quality and equipment that filter out/alter the frequency range on both ends of the spectrum that are pretty vital for the drums. This leaves you a distorted mess of vocals and guitars so that's what they hear.

IMO if you take a multi-track of a song and gradually add every track starting from the vocals, the most dramatic change will happen when you turn on the drum section. This comes from someone who's very vocal centric when it comes to music. Guitars are an embellishment compared to drums.

I rarely see drum sound being commented on. Good to know we have some pros to help us.

I actually still don't know where Matt's mistake is.
That makes two of us!

Third. I'm a musician too. I haven't compared the studio and video versions really, but I have watched the video and made a point of listening to Matt's drumming in the intro. Sounds bang on to me.
Guitarist?

Considering everything else they fixed in post, this is all I'm saying :)

I can't wait to see BOB in action in the Lightning Bolt short movie. This will give us so much so complain about!

Hopefully this will give us some real insight in the recording process.

It's gonna be weird when BO'B doesn't sound like the voice I have in my head - a kind of high-pitched, whining hiss.

Can someone add 'O'Brien!' Or 'BoB!' to this or an equivalent gif. I feel we're gonna need it.

As long as they don't give a shit I am in. Very good point. I forgot I have been trying to make that point about Sirens all week.
Was this apparent "rivalry" between Pearl Jam and NickelCreed ever actually a real thing? Or is it just some fan-made mythology?
Rivalry? They're just shitty music, harm.
Well yeah. I just mean, do PJ actually acknowledge them as a shitty version of Pearl Jam? Or don't they care? If they don't care, it might be quite plausible that they'd actually write a song that sounded similar, because you know, at one point they sounded fairly similar.
u never heard "Creed Disease"? eddie vedder improved these lyrics while singing green disease

Course I know,.. then I don't
There's a stoway with my throat
It's deceiving
This bands called Creed

then at the end he did "C-R-E-E-D" instead of spelling greed.
Ed was a cranky bastard in 03 huh

Interest in LB gone down again today... lots of fluctuating... LTRP is average for the blues stomp PJ could be capable of... Threw on Tom Waits 'Bad as Me' and in comparison, the PJ tunes just sound... meh

Also Sirens.... right, I dont think its that much of a departure considering their roots, and tunes like Thumbing my Way, Just Breathe, Strangest Tribe and even Black... they can come at acoustic tunes or ballads from different angles and do them excellently... I see people on the Porch and they're like 'My mom found me under the bed in the foetal position holding a picture of me, aged 5 holding Bobo, sobbing after hearing Sirens'... thats not the song, you're just way too sentimental.

Ok that way an exaggeration but I stand by my comparison, just something like 'Back on the Crowd' is a way more emotionally compelling than Sirens.
And where the hell is the chorus?!

I reserve the right to completely change my mind in the meantime.....

Pretty much how I imagine Matt at any recording session with Pearl Jam.

bad as me was a pretty disappointing Tom Waits record. I am an enormous fan and can't remember the last time I felt the urge to revisit it outside of chicago, new years eve, and hell broke luce.

Sirens and back in the crowd are also very different songs, so I'm not sure where that comparison came from.

eh, they're okay. They felt like pretty standard Tom Waits and didn't really move me. I've never felt a need to come back to them. And Bad as Me is enthusiastic but it's a mess.

The b-sides that came with the box set are actually better than the majority of the record. Tell Me especially is wonderful.
