So I've been organizing my movies. I'm struggling a little on Rambo. War or Action movie? I'm leaning towards Action. Same thing with Red Dawn. Yeah its WWIII but its make pretend.

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I like both a lot, though ItW is clearly superior. Can't really buy Reese Witherspoon as a damaged whore, and the weird rapey bit near the end was out of place.

But I'm a sucker for movies about dropping it all and going into the wilderness to find oneself.

i don't think i ever finished wild, so i don't have much to say about it.

i enjoyed into the wild. i'd read the book just before the movie came out. then i bought it on iTunes a year ago--it was on sale for $6.99 or something--and convinced my wife to watch it. she was very upset i asked her to watch, especially after she learned it was based on a true story.

I'm with you though. i love stories about people leaving their lives behind to get some perspective.
