I used to frequent the Barnes and noble cafe when I was in college, and I’d order two oatmeal raisin cookies. I would always try to wait for them to bake a new batch so I’d get them when they were warm. Then I’d ask for a packet of cream cheese, and spread it in between the two.

One time at a fancy restaurant I worked at, we tricked a co-coworker into thinking that two spent espresso grind pucks with a layer of milk foam in between was a new house-made Oreo the chef was working on. He scarfed the thing in one bite before reality sunk in.

it's true that a Chicago dog is the best dog, by a wide margin. But sometimes it's good to mix it up.

when we were in iceland*, we went to some "famous" (famous like gus's chicken) hot dog shack in Reykjavik. the workers there asked where we were from, and when we answered they made fun of us for ordering dogs when we could get hot dogs around in our own backyard.

*i still love to start pointless, hackneyed stories with that haughty phrase
