Painted Shield (Painted Shield 2 on 4/22/22)

When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

I figured it out. It's Aleppo, Syria. Are they threatening military intervention?

It appears the first new music off Painted Shield II is due tomorrow. Old school title.

Just finally heard the single. I quite enjoyed it. I agree that Matt and Stone both sound great. I hope there’s actually an album coming and not just the single.

I was so excited for this project but it's turned into a big ol' dud for me. Stone working with Chamberlain and a real folk singer who could interpret his more off kilter stuff should have been a slam dunk. Yet it's this weird electro rock thing. Not for me.

Mason Jennings has always been a little weird and off kilter.

Stone and mason make complete sense to me. I live this collaboration

Yeah, Painted Shield was one of my favorite albums last year and this one, if it is for the aforementioned II, is on pace with that. It will also mean Painted Shield will have released two albums since Pearl Jam’s last one (I am only being kind of unfair).

That's what I'm saying, it seemed like a perfect fit. But it does nothing for me.

They really took a lot of time to release the first one tough.

i like the song, drums and stone especially. but yes, i audibly chuckled when the video cut to pensive mason on a playground swing.

new interview with mason

- stone/regan produced mason's upcoming solo record 'real heart' on loosegroove
- second painted shield is coming, a "double record", in april, "major synth record".
- hopeful for some painted shield shows in late summer

first single from 'real heart', apparently chosen by stone

ah, copperplate, a font for the truly modern man.
