This is still my fav PJ album. Start to finish the most complete record.
I was 17 just left high school and was working at Target At the time of release. I’d been hassling the gals in the sound and Audio department about the album for months.
Closing up on the Saturday and the store manger called me outback and let me take a copy home on the condition I paid for it next week when it was officially released.
The GF was due to come over 30 minutes later and no mobile phones so I sped home and blasted it. I remember jumping around on my bed to “Blood” when the GF opened the door

We know Hold On was being worked on but nothing about is ever saw the light of day until years later, so it probably wasn’t in contention. Who knows what the fuck was going on with that a Cready Stomp thing?
It would be fun to see a track listing that included them. And see where they might fit.

Better Man wasn't close, per Brendan O'Brien in PJ20 book .. he pushed Ed to include it but instead Ed gave it away to Chrissie Hynde to record for a charity album, and then for some reason she never showed up for the session. That's why it was available again for Vitalogy.

Totally agree with this. One of my favourite sounding records. A lot of the more recent releases sound compressed.
