This movie is absolute perfection.
i liked it
Best film of the 90's
Better than Fire Walk With Me?
that one was disappointing
Damnit, Lenny
i'm sorry

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Fun fact: the priest who gets picked on and dowsed with the a hose is the co-writer of Ed Norton's directorial debut, Keeping The Faith.

I dunno 6.8 outta 10

Loved it for a time in adolescence but doesn’t hold up well for me... feels pretentious and shallow

I think the biggest irony of The Rewatchables pod about Fight Club is that it is in and of itself mostly just an ad for the Woodstock 99 doc.

Loved the book too. Read it in one sitting. I actually got caught arrested and fired after stealing from Walmart soon after.

The movie’s so much better though. Palahniuk’s got some great story ideas, but he’s not at all what I’d consider a good writer.
i've never read anything by him...i'm just kinda curious how it compares

i don't have super strong feelings about the movie...i'm sure i could watch it right now and enjoy it, but i also probably wouldn't be sad if i never saw it again

Agree and disagree.

The movie improves on the book, yes. It takes the story from one medium and transposes it to a new and different medium better and more effectively than any other example I can think of.

But Chuck is a good writer. Fight Club is a good book. And the movie would not exist, could not exist, without the source material.

Also, the Woodstock 99 doc was good. I watched that before Fight Club. It actually made me want to watch Fight Club. That doc and the Rewatchables pod.
