The cover says the interview about the big comeback.
4 years! A return to form!
Easily best work in the last 4 years!
Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan and Pixies.

Nice to see RS staying hip to all the kids' jive.
it's like a who's who of bands PJ think we should check out
Observations:

1) Eddie is doing a remarkable job pulling off 'double denim'.
2) Stone appears to be just boom wearing a cardboard mask with Stone's face on it.
3) Matt's playing with his wang.
Stone's head does look superimposed.
they all do.

Do you think they got them all to pose in those positions but just didn't like their faces? Kind of like how Brendan changes choruses via cut and paste?

I meant to ask you. Can you spot some autotune artefacts on Ed? I think he couldn't possibly reach that high without help. It's way out of his range.

I don't hear it on the high notes, but if it's a soft touch and it's well done autotune is almost impossible to detect. There are engineers out there who do ONLY Autotune work, and they get paid very well (but don't appear on album credits lists). I read an interview with one once (maybe on Gearslutz? Or who knows where). Anyway, I guess the trick to avoiding the frequency distortion or "bubble sound" is to manually correct each off pitch moment...working with extremely tiny sections of audio.

Case in point: I remember hearing some pitchy moments in the leaked unmastered Life Wasted that were perfectly pitched on the record, but I couldn't tell you where they are now. I can't hear Autotune on that song at all.

Usually, with Ed, he's warbly to the point of wavering off pitch on the low stuff, and he leans a teeny bit flat on stuff that is both high and forceful (see: live performance of Comfortably Numb with Roger Waters). If there's correction, I'd expect to see it more in those places...but he's controlling his low parts well in this song and he's buried in with backing vocals for the forceful highs.

Has there ever been a band photo that didn't include at least one flannel shirt? It's gotta be an inside joke at this point, right? [as I type this, I get a deja vu sense I've posted this very same ponderance before. . . . . .]

I find the entire Rolling Stone cover to be flat, to be honest.

Maybe the italian RS are cools.

It looks like jeffs and stones heads have been swapped, no way would stone voluntarily touch ed. And that looks like something jeff would wear.
