Rio

Kids liked it, I'm not sure about the intent of the obviously significant amount of effort put into animating Blu's owner's boobs.

Val
I wish more of the old footage he shot was used. I didn’t expect so much to be him currently. I wasn’t bored, but I also couldn’t help feeling like if he hadn’t had throat cancer and lost his voice, no one is making this doc. His days of being a star were well behind him. That Mark Twain shit he was doing is the sort of thing you’d see during Huck Finn Days in Hannibal. It wasn’t going to resuscitate his career. I would love to see him and his disability worked into the new Willow series tho.

We've been watching Gibli movies every time they come over, but this was a special treat for my nephew.

Yes. My current ranking:

Totoro
Spirited Away
Mononoke
Porco Rosso
Howl's moving castle
Ponyo
I’d swap the top two and would almost put porco rosso third, but very nice taste pal

The subtitles were necessary.

Yeah most of the time, they were. There were a few exceptions, but they are few and far between. The good news is he’s actually cancer-free so hopefully there will come a time when his voice can be repaired beyond what it is now.

I had forgotten his Twain show was scheduled to come to Nashville. It was the first one he canceled when he got sick. I had contemplated going, but then he canceled and it became moot.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Well yeah, but there are others ways to have female character development outside of "nerdy girl secretly sex kitten"... particularly in a kid's movie. #OldManCompiants

Rewatchables positioned this as a Black Stand By Me, which I thought was pretty lazy but also not entirely unfair.

Singleton never really made another movie as good as this one, did he?
You've obviously never seen 2 Fast 2 Furious

THAT is sarcasm. 2F2F is terrible. I didn't hate Higher Learning, though.
