If you can find 10 more BIPOC, nationwide, who are hesitant to vaccinate because polling was wrong on Brexit, I'll turn in my Black power/LBGT flag.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

They've got plenty of other reasons to distrust government/vaccines.

Man, for me it's just, like, if you're going to go down the route of distrust you logically might as well go all the way and just assume reality as you know it is a simulation. I'm on board with that. But, within the simulation, getting the vaccine still makes more sense than not.

Are you calling the BIPOC writer crazy?

My take away from the opinion piece is that the writer lays out a case as to why a segment of the population does not trust the government, media, health organizations and more. He makes the case that this is a cause for vaccine hesitancy in a marginalized group. Yet in a grasp at gaslighting this BIPOC writer you focus on "because polling was wrong on Brexit".

You act like an ally but as soon as a BIPOC writer offers a viewpoint you don't agree with you gaslight. Disagree all you want but have reasons. Make counter arguments.

"How could this happen," he says to himself while sipping his latte and listening to NPR, "How?!"
That must mean everyone outside of the US is rushing to get the vaccine, huh?
The horrifying, lovecraftian beauty of globalism is that my comment applies everywhere else, too.

"The same people who told you Brexit would never happen, that Trump would never win, that when he did win it was because of Russian collusion but also because of racism, that you must follow lockdowns while they don’t, that masks don’t work, that masks do work, that social justice protests during pandemic lockdowns are a form of “health intervention,” that ransacking African American communities in the name of fighting racism is a “mostly peaceful” form of protest, that poor and underserved children locked out of shuttered schools are “still learning,” that Jussie Smollett was a victim of a hate crime, that men are toxic, that there is an infinite number of genders, that COVID couldn’t have come from a lab until maybe it did, that closing borders is racist until maybe it isn’t, that you shouldn’t take Trump’s vaccine, that you must take the vaccine developed during the Trump administration, that Andrew Cuomo is a great leader, that Andrew Cuomo is a granny killer, that the number of COVID deaths is one thing and then another … are the same people telling you now that the vaccine is safe, that you must take it, and that if you don’t, you will be a second-class citizen."

I don't think that the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Food and Drug Administration, or the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices told us ANY of those things.

But I agree. Political polling is inaccurate and Critical Race Theory exists, so medical science doesn't work anymore. Excellent point.
You completely missed the point. Classic B
No I didn't. There is no point.

And while effectiveness against infection has dropped, it remains relatively high in the low 80th percentile or so.
The vaccine is the difference between BioGen in 2020 and Provincetown in 2021.

I don’t understand this logic. Just because someone is a person of color doesn’t make them… anything else. They could be crazy, too. Never heard anyone (serious) say that every single POC has something meaningful to say (this article aside, I didn’t read it). More about taking the general POC experience more seriously and listening more.

Boosters authorized for immunocompromised. (called it)

I would expect them to be authorized for all within the next 30 days. The pressure leading up to school starting will be too great not to move in that direction.

You are absolutely correct on most points but when a BIPOC writer is writing on why their community is acting in a certain way, we owe them an honest listen or read. Having "because polling was wrong on Brexit" as the takeaway sure doesn't seem like an honest attempt at understanding was the goal.

I thought the author was Konstantin Kisin? Or are we talking about something else now?
