I don't know where the whole 'Stone and Jeff hate Vitalogy/No Code' thing came from, honestly. I've also never heard Stone say he was thinking of quitting the band. Maybe I'm wrong on that one.

I'm sure I've read stone saying he either didn't like or didn't get one of em. But he had listened to it recently and appreciated it more.

Even Pearl Jam need to listen to their records twenty times to get it.

I think there was an interview a few months after it was released where he said he wasn't sure about it at first, but grew to really like it. That's the only thing I remotely remember; that being said, although I like reading old interviews about the band, I'm by no means the end all be all on it.

There is a guitar magazine around the time when Yield came out that stone did say he was not a fan of No Code, i dont remember the exact quote but it was something to the effect of it he was not happy with it nor would it have been the album he would have put out...or they were not the best songs at the time...

I think it was an interview for s/t that he said he only began to like it. I guess he realised the fans liked it and didn't wanted to alienate nobody.

According to wikipedia Stone contemplated leaving the band over Vitalogy. The source of the quote is an article called "Working Their Way Out of a Jam" from the Los Angeles times published in 1996.
Here it is. http://articles.latimes.com/1996-12-22/ ... am-concert
It's on page 2.

The harmonising leads behind the final chorus are awesome.

This is quite possibly the best PJ song since Binaural. It's got that classic PJ urgency that has been missing for faaaaaaaar too long.
