I remember not having an opinion of Alive but didn’t like Even Flow. I didn’t care for either video; both black & white concert clips. Jeremy was the single that really caught my attention. I eventually got the cassette and my fandom began. GnR was my favorite at the time. I liked Vs but loved Vitalogy. That was the one that really solidified my love for the band.

yeah, i kinda hated both Jeremy and Alive back in the day...i was also a gnr fan...mixed with Rolling Stones and Roxette. It wasnt until Vs came along that i was on board.

The first ep was misguided. If I’m listening to a Pearl Jam podcast in 2021, I know all this shit already. Still, the first few minutes where she talked about being mesmerized by the Even Flow video was exactly how it was for me.

Almost the same story here...I was somewhat into GnR and bought into the hype around the Use Your Illusions releases. INXS was my favorite but there was kind of a feeling at the time that their best was behind them. I had actually just been introduced to Zeppelin by a friends older sister and they were what i was mostly listening to before Pearl Jam, Nirvana and the Pumpkins took over.

I dont even particularly remember seeing the Alive or Even Flow videos when they first came out, and if i did they didn't leave much of an impression obviously. The Jeremy video was a completely different story. Saw it, really digged it and ran out and picked up the cassette on a Friday afternoon before heading up to the cottage for the weekend. I'll never forget the drive up, sitting in the backseet and giving Ten my first listen. By the time i made it thru the Black-Jeremy-Oceans-Porch run i was already completely smitten.

Yeah, I was aware of Ten but it didn’t really land for me until after Vs. was released and I had a cassette with Ten on one side (Release cut off) and Vs. on the other. I remember preferring Vs. I can’t say now that either has a distinct advantage for me over the other.

I just remember buying 10 and being very annoyed that the versions of alive and evenflow were not the video versions.

Can anybody take a clear pic of the liner notes of the last ten reissue?

Specifically the handwritten Ed release lyrics.. I only really want that part

I know there's one on the site but I had to zoom in n it is a little blurry

Has this been already discussed here? It's on Spotify.

Edit: seems to be random live versions from the bootlegs. There's no information from which year or show these are from.

I’ve only listened to the newest episode (“the best songs on ten aren’t…”) but I enjoyed that quite a bit.

how is saying "stupid", "dumb", "ignorant", "idiot", "fool", etc. any less egregious than "retarded"?
