I understand the sentiment, but I'm very skeptical that there will be supply issues that would prevent both. this is the exact point people arent grasping. when hospitals are full mostly because of a shit ton of antivaxxers that prevents others from being admitted, whether it is for kidney stones, arm fractures or car wrecksGreen Habit wrote:Believe or not, I'm not that far off from this--I really don't want to see any more NPIs now that we've got vaccines. If I recall correctly, the WHO didn't want anyone getting their 2nd shot before the rest of the world got their 1st shot.B wrote:WHO (for what it's worth) disagrees with #1.Green Habit wrote:A few things can simultaneously be true:

pfizer and moderna once the vaccinations are approved can make more than enough doses so the manufacturing of the vaccine wont be tough but as they have seen it is the logistics of getting it delivered. that will probably be the biggest hurdle if not tied for convincing people it is safe and wont magnetize you or allow bill gates to reboot your modem

I've never met anyone in the wild who believes the microchip thing. Most people who haven't gotten their shot just don't see the upside.

a acquaintance's daughter swears up and down that her mother in law got the vaccine and now she is magnetized. i tired to explain that its not magnetism but likely perspiration that is allowing it to stick and was rebuffed. i exited that conversation pretty quick after that

I know I'm asking a question like 17 months late, but anybody have a recommendation for a mask that's good if you're doing a lot of talking? Second day of class today and the rag I'm wearing ain't cutting it.

You can clean up #3 by just saying we need to focus on the unvaccinated.

I saw a site that sold fake masks that look real. You breathe normal through them. I'd go with one of them.Peeps wrote:accumed.com is the one the dr recommended yesterday but i should stress it is the one he feels comfortable with.4/5 wrote:I know I'm asking a question like 17 months late, but anybody have a recommendation for a mask that's good if you're doing a lot of talking? I haven't tried these, and they're pricey, but maybe.4/5 wrote:I know I'm asking a question like 17 months late, but anybody have a recommendation for a mask that's good if you're doing a lot of talking? Second day of class today and the rag I'm wearing ain't cutting it.

It's a tough ask b/c if the mask isn't stopping and absorbing moisture then it's not doing anything.

1. MASKS:KN95 masks are most comfortable for him and his children. They are available just about anywhere online; purchases them via AccuMed
2. MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES: If you or a loved one are exposed to or test positive for COVID, suggests speaking with your physician about monoclonal antibodies in addition to all other treatment options
3. COVID GROWTH RATE TRACKING:referenced the tool available on the CDC site or on most major news websites, which shows the growth rates of COVID cases, hospitalizations and deaths in any given area, measured per 100,000 people in the area. This information may help determine comfort level when travelling to different areas, especially where masks are optional

Unless more evidence comes out that over 65s have less protection (including against hospitalization/death) after 6-8 months. That appears to be where this is going.surfndestroy wrote:If you're at a higher risk there are plenty of precautions you can take and/or adjustments to your lifestyle you can make that make that mitigate the choices that others make. Hospital beds being available has always been the greatest concern through this.
