Then they should be stocking up and learning how to use N95 masks.spike wrote:Unless more evidence comes out that over 65s have less protection (including against hospitalization/death) after 6-8 months. Re: Anybody want a Corona?
my wife just text me saying she had one of her employees sitting with her in her office today--they were both masked. her employee has a daughter who's been sick since Monday, and she's still been sent to school. today, the daughter tested pos for covid.
I'm trying to wrap my head around the sheer stupidity in not only sending your sick kid to school for four fucking days, and then hanging out in close quarters with other people knowing you've got a sick kid.
especially, when you work in healthcare. on top of that, you work for the director of infectious diseases (my wife) at the hospital.
i mean, godddamnit. and i really don't care that they were masked. you could be in an office and touch a million things.
note: my wife never wanted to hire this person from the start, but her boss did the hiring.

Are they getting sick and going to the hospital though? We all know vaccinated people can test positive. But what is the result physically to them?Bi_3 wrote:Two more vaxxed Senators test positive:

Mild symptoms right now but their are plenty of life changing side effects that do not require hospitalizationE.H. Ruddock wrote:Are they getting sick and going to the hospital though? Edit: Hickenlooper is positive as well, mild symptoms. Someone in the senate must be asymptotic but highly contagious

in this wonderful reality we have, yes probably. but it's bullshit; it should be safe for these folks by now in america.surfndestroy wrote:Then they should be stocking up and learning how to use N95 masks.spike wrote:Unless more evidence comes out that over 65s have less protection (including against hospitalization/death) after 6-8 months. How many people have any of us given any disease or virus to others that can ultimately spread to vulnerable people. The flu kills lots of vulnerable people every year and I did not see the moral panic with it.spike wrote:i wonder how many people you've given it to.verb_to_trust wrote:You don't need to be to be safe from a virus that 99 percent of people shrug offdad wrote:is your primary care provider in peak physical condition?verb_to_trust wrote:If the doctor is fat old and 90, possiblydad wrote:or down in some instances.verb_to_trust wrote:Man upspike wrote:Healthcare workers are absolutely exhausted after a year and a half of this.verb_to_trust wrote:ICUs are designed to be run near capacity. Get vaxxed, get on with life and yes, some people will die of Covid. Some people will die in car accidents but we still drive and don't demand pedestrians where armour and bike helmets. We allow people to smoke while knowing second hand smoke kills people. I am not going to change my moral obligations for just one disease when we do a whole shit ton of things that contribute to deaths.
