Geezes christ you are gonna give yourself cancer or another stroke with all your anger and bullshit. Thoughts? So they are prolonging the national misery instead of easing it, which could be done with a few simple strategies. Explain to the public that the virus will never disappear but is no longer a mortal threat to the vast majority of Americans. Encourage the minority still at risk to get vaccinated by honestly discussing who is in jeopardy and what scientists have learned about infections. Promote treatments proven to prevent infection and speed recovery while avoiding unproven treatments and mandates that cause collateral damage and generate mistrust. Above all, make it clear to Americans that we finally have reason to celebrate: what once seemed an unprecedented danger is now just one of many pathogens that we know how to live with.

Okay man. Very normal thing for you to say. I ran some sub 7 minute miles last night. Pretty confident about my health and wellness. Your main issue with this assessment is the lack of vaccines for kids under 12, right?spike wrote:not quite there yet, unfortunately.4/5 wrote:Thoughts? So they are prolonging the national misery instead of easing it, which could be done with a few simple strategies. I like it, but vaxxed is now an identity group so it’s gonna be tough to suggest it’s not enough, especially in terms of post-infection treatments which is probably what “science” should be focusing on now.4/5 wrote:Thoughts? So they are prolonging the national misery instead of easing it, which could be done with a few simple strategies. Re: Anybody want a Corona?
We have never honestly discussed who is in jeopardy. I don't think we ever will because it will make people have to look in the mirror and reflect on the fact that their lifestyle choices put them in a much higher risk category. As a society we find it much easier to tell others what to do over taking steps to protect ourselves first.spike wrote:we did the above all, celebrate thing a couple months ago. that didn't quite work out.4/5 wrote:Your main issue with this assessment is the lack of vaccines for kids under 12, right?spike wrote:not quite there yet, unfortunately.4/5 wrote:Thoughts? So they are prolonging the national misery instead of easing it, which could be done with a few simple strategies. If you are vaxxed and obese you stand a better chance of being hospitalized than your unvaxxed, healthy 5 year old. That conversation is a non-starter for most. We've had over 15 months to address this known and easily addressable risk and have done nothing, and generally throw abuse at people who bring it up. Just a single pound a week of weight loss during that time would be 65lbs lost for people who are obese. At two pounds a week (up to 130 lbs lost) most obese people would no longer be obese. It's way easier to scream at people.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.
