i feel like i need to share my first the national live experience with someone though, and it will likely have to be with one of you...who is interested?
I'll go, but i expect you to sing along to every song.

every. song.

i think Alligator has some great lyrics, though that might pre-date Carin. Trouble is fantastic, and i know she helped pen a few songs.

edit: i don't see her with any credits on Trouble :?

maybe it's only Boxer and HV.
I can't say whether it's had an effect on him, considering she was given credit earlier on with boxer. As far as the songs, I think it's kind of a mixed bag. Songs like You had your soul are kind of dull, while songs like brainy, little faith, and ada are awesome. I don't think they really changed matt's style or approach though.

There are so many lyrics that I gravitate toward but, aside from basically all of Slow Show

Do you really think you can just put it in a safe behind a painting, lock it up and leave?
Walk away now and you're gonna start a war

these lines are just flawless to me.

you made me go back and look to see if i ever got the volume 3 the mail. evidently it's been sitting behind by desk in my home office unopened for 3 months, together with the light years book and live LP.

by the way, i only have these on vinyl. so i won't be listening to them today.

For some reason, the Light Years book/vinyl was where I drew the line. I do have the Lot of Sorrow box, though.
