I haven't read it (plan to) but from what I heard on the radio it sure sounds like it was the whole league that wanted Arlen to shut up about this.

There's actually not much of anything in this story.

The article mentions Comcast having contributed quite a bit more over the years. Seems like Comcast had more of an interest in Arlen's pressuring the NFL (because of the pricing fight of NFLN) than Trump, Kraft, and Goodell had in hushing this up.

What I mean is, the league (and Trump & Kraft) had moved on and it certainly doesn't appear that Arlen got paid prior to dropping this crusade - despite trying to continually get contributions from Kraft & Trump - which reads as the entire premise of this article.
