I won't get my hopes up. This is something I've tried to get going for years now. But if this really happens...

Great!
Here's a more appropriate place to discuss the cast http://forums.theskyiscrape.com/viewtop ... 10&t=16956, considering this will have nothing to do with Pearl Jam, mods, if you want to move discussion.

I suggested one in the mod forum a few months ago, but it was one of those 'someone should do all the work and just ask me to be on it' kind of suggestions. I would have, and frankly still think your suggestion is a great idea, but I have no idea how to even get started on something like that. I'd be happy to do some creative tag-teaming with an audio/tech person though. It's a great project idea.stip wrote:I suggested one in the mod forum a few months ago, but it was one of those 'someone should do all the work and just ask me to be on it' kind of suggestions. Re: Stip on the State of Love and Trust Podcast
Finally listened to the pod. Great job, Stip. As usual you were insightful and articulate and a joy to listen to. It makes me want to do a video Guided Tour type roundtable project even more. I'd love to host that discussion. Get different RMers for each album. It would be so much fun.
Anyway, great job, Stip. You did RM proud.

Re: Stip on the State of Love and Trust Podcast
The good people of the state of love and trust podcast had me back on again for the end of their 4 episode Ten month. We spent an hour talking about Alive, and how its meaning and experience has evolved over time. They're great, insightful hosts, and it was a ton of fun. You can (AND SHOULD, DAMN IT) listen here
or here: https://shows.acast.com/state-of-love-a ... till-alive
You should also check out the prior episode on Jeremy. They interviewed someone whose life experiences mirror the Jeremy narrative, who encountered the song in juvenile prison where it transformed his life. Pretty powerful stuff.

Re: Stip on the State of Love and Trust Podcast
This was a great listen. I wish I'd had a pen and paper though to jot down thoughts/ideas/questions.
One thing though, is the incest narrative really so opaque for people? Maybe there was a time before I'd heard it confirmed by the band or fans or whatever. But my memory is that I've always thought that was pretty obvious in the song. It's purposefully vague, sure. It's not blunt or spelled out but what else could that second verse be about, really?

Re: Stip on the State of Love and Trust Podcast
i guess I just never thought about that too concretely, but I definitely did not arrive at the incest story organically

Re: Stip on the State of Love and Trust Podcast
I looked up the lyrics to make a joke about what stip must have thought was happening, but it's impossible. There's nothing there but incest.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?
