Times of Trouble / Footsteps origin - Andy Wood recording

Post by thesound »

Don’t think this has been posted before.

Andrew Wood and Stone Gossard toying with the beginnings of the song that became Temple of the Dog's - Times of Trouble, and also Pearl Jam's - Footsteps.

I wonder whether a recording of Dollar Short (Alive) will ever turn up. According to Stone, Andy wrote lyrics and they played it live atleast once.

Really poor version. But could probably have been good if they finished it.

Read that part of the riff here was used in Black, it’s just a little bit late in the song:

I only made it thru about half of that and nothing was even remotely reminiscent of Black. They both have E minor chords, but that’s about it.

For a brief moment a similar riff appears....
The riff that connects "I know she gave me all that she was....." and "and now my bitter hands"

But thats it.
