He really pissed a lot of people off with announcing his new contract then taking the whole summer off until September. I read that subscriptions are down during the summer.

He already only works 3 days a week and his show has turned into 50% imitating his conversations with his parents. Hes been phoning in for a while. Interviews are still decent but I'm sick of hearing high pitch Eric talk about being gay for Donnie Wahlberg every day.

Yeah, he should have left at the end of the last contract. His best days are behind him.

Oh wow; I didn’t realize he would be off that long.
I still enjoy the show though but of course it’s changed; he’s in his 60s now.

Stern has always been an exploitative weasel, but he fed Corgan's ego just enough to churn out some outstanding performances over the years.

There is nobody better than Howard Stern.

He is a fucking master. Every interview of his is intoxicating. I dont care who is on the show. I will be completely enthralled with it from beginning to end.

He is a legend.

I have no issue with his interviews; most are great.

My main issues with him now are twofold:
1) How he treats his staff. I get it; that's quintessential "Howard" but I've grown weary of it to the point of changing the channel when he goes in on Gary, Richard, and Sal. His "you wouldn't have the opportunity to do 'x' if it weren't for me." routine is just off-putting (at best). Don't care if it's true or not; stop being such a piece of shit to your loyal employees.

2) Indirectly related to #1, he's seemingly taken no steps to keep his channels as a living, breathing entity post-retirement. Things looked so promising when he first came to Sirius with Howard 100 News, the various fan shows, secondary staff shows, etc. and he was in prime position to be at the forefront of the "podcast network" movement that is now so commonplace and profitable. Instead, he continued to discount the entire podcast concept, throws a hissy-fit anytime the focus isn't on him, and has steadily choked off every possible future for a sustainable channel.

Saw part of the Metallica interview online. Elton John complimented Nothing Else Matters and to see Heltfeld wipe away a tear was cool to see.
Also man has Metallica aged since I saw them last. Time catches up with us all.

RIP Marphan Mike

Also, Howard still makin the news, saying what most are thinkin:

Howard Stern did not hold back in remarks about unvaccinated Americans during his January 19 radio broadcast on Sirius XM. The radio shock jock, who is known for making controversial statements by nature, said that if he were in charge of the U.S., hospitals would start turning away COVID-19 patients who had previously refused the vaccine.
'[The unvaccinated] have been told you will die if you get the vaccine. Some of you will live, but most of you will die. [They] don’t trust our government. They think that there’s some conspiracy to turn them into a magnet or something like this,' said Stern.
'There’s enough Americans now [who] have taken it,' Stern continued. 'Look at us as a sampling where nothing has happened to us. It’s time for you to get it. Now, if you don’t get it, in my America, all hospitals would be closed to you. You’re going to go home and die. That is what you should get. Absolutely.'
This is not the first time Stern has made provocative headlines on this topic, specifically. In September 2021, he told unvaccinated people to 'go f*ck [themselves],' adding: 'When are we gonna stop putting up with the idiots in this country and just say it’s mandatory to get vaccinated? F*ck ’em. F*ck their freedom. I want my freedom to live.'

I tried listening to a whole show today as i had some time in the car this morning. Just like the last time i listened (a month or so ago) it has turned into nothing but him imitating his parents and then these weird celebrity impressions when they “knock” on his door. Unless he’s doing an interview, it’s unlistenable
