Eddie Vedder - Earthling

When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

I’m really glad he’s feeling energized about writing and recording of late. And it sounds like he’s making music without wasting a thought on whether or not dipshits like us will like it. I don’t like it.

I was hoping you liked this. Kind of surprised you dont with your feelings on Gigaton.

Also, i like how Ed is settling into an elder statesman in some ways. Or, rather, accepting and embracing these folk/pop sensibilities rather than actively shying away

I'm loving it too. So sonically pleasing. Really looking forward to hearing the rest of this record.

I can't believe we are getting a solo album!

I think...I think...I think I like it? First listen of the first verse had me worried. Clunk city.

Speaking of worried, I am very concerned about the subject matter of The Haves.

Overall, pleased he's releasing new music.

Just caught myself hearing a bit of the Force of Nature outro in the Long Way outro.

Agree with this. I just assumed it would be him on a guitar all alone. Has me more intrigued by the album.

Oh wow, I just saw this. A true solo album from Ed has certainly got my attention.

I'm glad we're getting this. I've long had a mild desire for a full-band Ed solo album. If this first song is a solid indication, then I think I can safely keep my excitement at a 6 and my expectations around a 4.

Seems reasonable to expect at least a song or two that I like more than Long Way, which would be great. And if "The Haves" can live up to its promise of being most awkward song title of the bunch, then that should ultimately prove a-okay, too.

Ed helped give me Gigaton, so I'll give him a long leash here.

its getting better with each listen.

I love the overall feeling of this one...feels calm and relaxed and the melody in the chorus is so nice.

A proper EV solo album and a nice, new epilogue avatar in the same thread. Everything's coming up aces in september.

Rather strangely, I heard this on the radio which I never listen to. My kids are messing about in the car while I was replacing a headlight. When I started up to go to work some DJ introduced the track before I could turn him off. There was barely a 5 second window.

Average track.

They then played Alive (Let's Play Two) and Betterman (only heard the first 20 secs before I turned it off).

The solo seems a bit Adam Granduciel at the beginning, but then goes horribly wrong.
