I might see it eventually if I hear good things but the sequels were forgetfully bad.

Hmm, ok. Could be good. So he is in the Matrix because that is the only place where Trinity exists? And it looks like most if not all of it takes place in the Matrix. I wonder what role the machines play after their agreement with the humans.

Hard disagree. Do yourself a favor and rewatch the whole series I bet you'll feel differently.Biff Pocoroba wrote:I might see it eventually if I hear good things but the sequels were forgetfully bad.

I started rewatching Reloaded since this is getting close. I haven't watched it since I went to a midnight showing on opening day, and after 20 minutes I realized I remember nothing about this movie.4/5 wrote:Hard disagree. Re: Movie: Matrix Resurrections
I rewatched all three a few months ago. I have basically every line of the first one memorized, I was surprised by how well I knew Reloaded, which is to say I remember basically every scene but nowhere near as specifically as the first one. The glaring exception was that I remembered the ending but had no idea how we were going to get there. I remembered very little of Revolutions outside of the ending.Simple Torture wrote:I started rewatching Reloaded since this is getting close. I can't wait to rewatch all three with my wife before the new one.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: Movie: Matrix Resurrections
Both sequels suffer from the invincible hero problem. It just never feels like the stakes are very high for Neo/Superman. And the story never comes close to as compelling as the original. With all the possibilities, it was very disappointing how badly they messed it up.

Re: Movie: Matrix Resurrections
I agree, trag. I just hope they learned from the sins of other recent "remakes" and manage to make this its own thing in some not tiny way. Sure, the effects and nostalgia points look awesome, but without a good story I don't give a damn. If all the reviews come out talking about how the story is bland or actually a complete retread, I probably won't ever watch it.tragabigzanda wrote:tragabigzanda wrote:Still looks like a complete retread, still can't wait to give them my money

I think the trailer looks great. Seems like a really fresh and unique way to reenter this world.

I don't get this. Neo living in the Matrix having memories of the events of the first 3 movies but thinking that he's losing mind is a retread?tragabigzanda wrote:tragabigzanda wrote:Still looks like a complete retread, still can't wait to give them my money

Re: Movie: Matrix Resurrections
Man is dissatisfied with his life, goes down rabbit hole, discovers his power, wins big battle(s), to be continued in part 2... It appears they could milk the love story a little more in this one.
