It's well made and I always like Fincher's visuals, but I think Se7en is kinda dumb, riddled with clichés. Loved it as a teenager, find it hard to watch now. It's the opposite of Zodiac for me.

I think Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt are wonderful together. Some of their finest work.

They're cool but their characters feel one-dimensional. Freeman's character's dialogue is hilariously vague at times.

It’s just a few days in their life, during an investigation. He’s very good as a detective about to retire.

I just remember like Freeman getting into a cab and the driver asking him "where to?" and him replying like "somewhere far far away from here" all mournful... it feels like this the whole movie with this guy

I remember seeing trailers for that back in the day and being SUPER excited to see it. But then it came and went so fast that I'd kinda forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder.

Did you stream it somewhere?

Originally had this on a VHS dub of a screener bought at a flea market, added to the graininess of it all. Se7en and 12 Monkeys were both a great shift from what Pitt was doing on film pretty much [Kalifornia/True Romance] up until that point. Theme is based around a sample of a NIN track as well

Yeah Keanu, Momoa, Ribisi, Jim Carey and Diego Luna to name a few. I've never heard of the lead actress but she's good in this

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)

Fascinating to watch as an adult…. It’s funny and dark and great.

I like it, and the extended cut is an improvement.
