I found out a couple details about my friend. He was on the ventilator for 19 days. He had had a tracheotomy and was in a medically induced coma. He had a collapsed lung and on dialysis as well. A horrible, strung out, lonely, expensive, and unnecessary way to die.
While I have such mixed emotions there’s no doubt his family and close friends are grieving.

The average enlisted probably has a worse case of the sniffles in bootcamp than what they would get from Covid. Its not something thats going to incapacitate them. Its a nothing burger for 20 year olds.

Good comparison to the anthrax vaccine as that was also developed on an accelerated timeline and why they waited for FDA approval before mandating the Covid vaccine.

I was with some of the first to get the anthrax and new boosters before a deployment. Also, the amount of shit they shoot you up with when you deploy to certain areas of the world scares me more than any covid vaccine.
