I watched the Val Kilmer documentary last night. It was pretty underwhelming, I thought. Very one note, very surface level. There is some great stuff worth exploring in it, too. But I wanted to drill down on everything that was brought up. It's too light and easy. And at it's worst turns, it's just self-aggrandizing and kind of "woe-is-me."

But, I think, it ultimately lands in good place. I wanted Val less involved. There's a great documentary in there somewhere.

it might sound insensitive but I don't understand why a documentary on Val Kilmer?

Not insensitive at all. Totally valid question. And I'm not sure the documentary provides a compelling answer, frankly.

well, he was really famous back in the day and got that whole halo thing around him. With the cancer and so much footage, it could happen.

Havent seen it yet.

yeah it was pretty dull. The behind the scenes clips were nice. I'd rather just watch the raw footage of them hanging out on the Top Gun set or whatever.
