Re: R.I.P.
Norm was right!
Chairman of the Board received negative reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes it has an approval rating of 13% based on reviews from 8 critics.[5]
David Kronke of the Los Angeles Times referred to the film as "a standard-issue rags-to-riches plot, enlivened by only by a tchotchke-heavy production design that might engage those entranced by bright, shiny objects", and compared the film to "Good Burger, but with French tickler jokes."[6]
Comedian and former Mystery Science Theater 3000 host Michael J. Nelson named the film the fifth worst comedy ever made.[7]

Re: R.I.P.
I just had the realization that Norm was extremely anti-PC culture and honestly it seems pretty hypocritical of some of you to claim such love for him and his comedy. Ello, Burt, VG, etc. makes sense... but some of you... jeez .. just surprised you're OK with him.

I'm sure there is some big "reputable" jerk hole out there already putting together a piece on why Norm shouldn't be celebratedBi_3 wrote:tree_ wrote:I just had the realization that Norm was extremely anti-PC culture and honestly it seems pretty hypocritical of some of you to claim such love for him and his comedy. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: R.I.P.
i get what you mean. i think one of the reasons why i always found him funny is because he said a lot things a grandfather might say, things that, on the surface, were definitely not PC, but he was endearing in his delivery...like a grandpa.tree_ wrote:I just had the realization that Norm was extremely anti-PC culture and honestly it seems pretty hypocritical of some of you to claim such love for him and his comedy. i guess you could say i've grandfathered him in as someone i found funny in spite of his un-PC-like takes.
RIP, Norm.
