Incredible song. It just came on here, and it was unskippable. Much better than what Ed has released in 2021.

Still can’t believe they left this one off Binaural but Soon Forgets couldn’t be cut

Absolutely gorgeous song. Probably my second favorite outtake from these legendary sessions.

God I miss the days of Fatal and Man of the Hour when it looked like Pearl Jam were going to age gracefully and not desperately cling to their youth.

Binaural is probably the biggest example I've ever seen of a group really not having any clue what they have in their recording sessions.Got Some wrote:Still can’t believe they left this one off Binaural but Soon Forgets couldn’t be cut
Sad and Fatal are in my post-Yield top 10, and In the Moonlight is really not far behind.

I don’t think Tchad Blake loving this song helped it’s case

Re: Song of the Moment: Fatal
I think to see why Gods' Dice and Evacuation made it and not Fatal you have to understand Pearl Jam's history. Of course a producer would say songs like Mankind and Lukin were minor, or substandard. But Eddie, in particular has an affinity with garage rock/punk that he doesn't openly express with a Radiohead or the bands(I'm thinking 90's) that maybe wrote albums full of songs like Fatal. Eddie once slagged Oasis' live show as boring. I took this to mean not enough up tempo songs, no energy.
I wouldn't mind taking out NAIS and putting in Fatal to the original album tracklist.

Taking NaiS off of binaural would be dumb. Fatal is better than some songs on the album but certainly not NaiS

Binaural does not need to be changed. Fatal is a great song that exists as a non album track and that is ok.

Just be happy we have Fatal and heard it. It can just be a song. Doesn’t need to be shoehorned into an album just bc it was written around the same time.
