Wow yea that is so weird!! I wonder what kind of fills we will get then. He does like to go around the kit a fair bit and I know his fills and beats pretty inside out so super intriguing.Johnny Turner wrote:He is using just one high tom... for the first time in a PJ Gig since what? 2007? There is a new floor tom next to his snare. This one he already had in DotC video.

not gonna lie, Ed on that RM soundcheck video sounded pretty good. there were a lot of drawn out notes where i fully expected some vowel-mashing and syllable-adding, but instead he just held the note.

Throw in one of the traditional set closers (RITFW, Baba, etc.) and this sounds like a significant chunk of time of the band's first show in several years dedicated to paint-by-numbers classic rock covers.Strat wrote: My city of ruins and the rising with a choir

I just don't get it, particularly the Floyd cover.

I realise a playing a bunch of covers has now become standard for the band over the years, but I still think it's strange.Strat wrote:Way to get down in it before anything happensBirds in Hell wrote:Throw in one of the traditional set closers (RITFW, Baba, etc.) and this sounds like a significant chunk of time of the band's first show in several years dedicated to paint-by-numbers classic rock covers.Strat wrote: My city of ruins and the rising with a choir

I can't think of any other bands of their stature with a deep catalogue of their own who rely on 'hey, you guys all know this one!' covers, like a party/wedding band.

Yes team spenno (who is definitely the originator of this hot take re: covers)tragabigzanda wrote:Team Spenno. 1-2 covers at the end is fine. Six covers in the set is too many.

I think complaints about too many covers have been made since at least the 2003 tour.

Exactly. 18 years now.
I don’t know. It’s just a bummer that some rmers are constantly always coming in and being bummers.
