Just re-watched DotC from one of the live streams. During the ending, they really nailed the multilayered vocals. Either Josh or someone else seems to be doing a really good Ed impression, or it's possible they're looping and layering Ed's parts?littlecomment wrote:He was noticeably sitting back in the pocket on Alive, channeling his inner...littlecomment wrote:It feels like he's playing less stiff overall tonight.Farmer John wrote:It sounds like Matt went back and listened to the original recordings to refresh himself after 3 years off...the original Corduroy drum intro, the hi-hat on the Even Flow solo, the hi-hat intro to Daughter

Indeed it did. Makes me wonder if they were playing the song to an in-ear click track if that's the case, and if they've ever done that before. Maybe they have for You Are.dprival78 wrote:they were looping eddielittlecomment wrote:Just re-watched DotC from one of the live streams. I think it was Mike that was talking about it really building up and exploding at the end the way they were rehearsing it last year? Wish they had not cut it.tragabigzanda wrote:I think Retrograde could really gain some new fans once it makes its live debut. It’s big issue on the record is how wimpy the drums sound. If it gets some more brawn behind it, it could be a whole new animal.

Ed used to loop vocals over his daughter jams via a pedal I’m curious how he did it for this

There was the one section where he stepped away and danced without manipulating anything. I'm guessing it was Josh playing the Jonny Greenwood role here.Strat wrote:Ed used to loop vocals over his daughter jams via a pedal I’m curious how he did it for this

What exactly did Josh in that song? Did he played on all of the Gigaton songs?

Yes I'm very interested to know this also! Did they just tuck him up the back out of direct line of sight, I didn't see him noticeably onstage in any of the videos' that popped up.VinylGuy wrote:What exactly did Josh in that song? Did he played on all of the Gigaton songs?

Ed looks like Richard Simmons in the fuzzy YouTube videos I've watched so far.
