Getaway sounds exactly like the decentish type of song people should want from Pearl Jam (Modern). I was pretty depressed until I heard that at the end there. I'm so sick of Sirens already. Hearing Mike gush about it and mention Brendan before the rest of the band when talking about writing it isn't helping...

most of the Mad Season stuff is pretty great musically, as is some of Mikes contributions that followed on No Code and Yield

This just makes it even more annoying that he would defer to him like he obviously did with Sirens. I mean, that cheesy schlock you hear all over the song is BOB all over...

Oh I dunno man. Yes, but I dunno... Inside Job was awful.

Yeah, sometimes we forget Mike was in Shadow. He's cheesy by nature.

I think there are definitely BoB intrusions in the structure, but I'd be lying if I said I knew where Mike's stuff ended and BoB's began. I guess right after the first pre-chorus I think BoB took over, but then there are nice bits in the middle and a good solo and all in all, I like more of it than I dislike.

Sirens is great. The only song we have that I'm not thoroughly enjoying at this point is LTRP. In the end, it's going to be as good as I wanted it to be: better than Supersonic.
