one observation. Dance asks for lots of singing at the end. kind of weak that the band doesn’t step up to do background vocals. it’s just ed, josh and tracks.
that’s a strange choice when it is a cool opportunity for all of them to sing along.

Re: 2021-09-18: See.Hear.Now Festival
I watched the whole thing via live stream (Tom Jones), and then later watched better quality YT videos of a number of the songs. The Gigaton songs were fantastic- these songs live have a ton of energy and to my mind blow away the first performances of tracks from other recent albums. My first impressions were that 7 O'Clock and SBWM were the best, but on further review, Quick Escape and Take the Long Way were massive!

I just don't get it, particularly the Floyd cover.
I can't think of any other bands of their stature with a deep catalogue of their own who rely on 'hey, you guys all know this one!' covers, like a party/wedding band.

Great to watch these guys after such a long time (thanks to the streamer).
Really liked Ed's energy and enthusiasm performing Gigaton songs. They sounded great in these new songs (DotC can be improved - like Mike part in the Chorus.. at Ohana it will sound even better).
I think if this still the band from Backspacer/Lightning Bolt, they would never had started this concert with 3 new songs in a row. Kudos 2021 Pearl Jam, Gigaton is still a beautiful record as you are as a band.
Also Dont understand the lack of backing vocals besides Josh and little from Jeff. Even Matt who sings what he does not need to (i.e. Even Flow chorus). Maybe they were just trying to focus in playing correctly their parts. In this context I really like Joshs contribution, like Ed does not need to play guitar in SBWM. Maybe this can be expanded to old songs that Ed has some difficulty to sing and play (Sad, Rearviewmirror, LBC, Grievance...)

While I disagree with this statement, it was nice that members other than Eddie wrote setlists. Nowadays it’s so rare, it’s noteworthy. I mean Stone wrote Charlottesville in 2013 and Quebec City in 2016. Is that it?Norris wrote:Pearl Jam setlists peaked in 2000.Birds in Hell wrote:I realise a playing a bunch of covers has now become standard for the band over the years, but I still think it's strange.Strat wrote:Way to get down in it before anything happensBirds in Hell wrote:Throw in one of the traditional set closers (RITFW, Baba, etc.) and this sounds like a significant chunk of time of the band's first show in several years dedicated to paint-by-numbers classic rock covers.Strat wrote: My city of ruins and the rising with a choir

Stone wrote the Adelaide 1 setlist back in 2006 and I'm pretty sure Jeff wrote Madrid on that tour.

10 Club member #1 wrote a portion of a setlist too. So 4 times in the past 14 years.
