He hid in the back the whole time and only stood up behind all his stuff to wave when Ed introduced him. They sounded so good Saturday night so I'm on board.

Sax solo during Even Flow would kick so much ass.

These guys have been at it for three decades and so have a lot of us. It seems impossible they're still touring and releasing good music, so I'll take what I can get. They nailed all the new songs. Eddie remembered the words. Radiohead has two drummers now. It happens.

I mean Nirvana added a helper guitarist like 4 years into their run.

Pearl Jam's by no means the only offender here, but I always found it kind of oft-putting when bands hide additional musicians or new band members. If you need more people, go for it; just have them onstage.

I think that was Josh's decision. They said on the upcoming tour he would be opening and then helping out, so I'd imagine he'll end up on stage with the other 15 of them.

They had already done that once before in 1989 though, so it wasn't out of the ordinary.

Right but wasn’t Jason Everman basically an ornament who was being used because he had access to cash?

Jason Everman, what a character. The guy played in Nirvana and Soundgarden and nobody remember him in either band.

I wouldn’t mind him on stage - maybe back next to Boom or something, but still visible. He’s not playing on every single song, though, is he?

we dont really know what he did.

He might have played all the instruments all the night, and sang like Ed.

For Kilnghoffer, it was mostly I think just an extra layer of guitar/percussion/vocals or whatever they thought needed to be filled out. Other than seeing him behind the amps on Mikes side, I wouldn’t have known he was there.

Ed sounded less breathy and he also didn’t try to reach high notes that he no longer can do. He was much more controlled vocally and it worked well, particularly on the new songs.
