Anyone have a good experience with/recommendation for a synth? That's a fairly broad brush, but I'm trying to get an idea on my first one, and (as always) there's many options. I'm trying to find that spot between affordability, ease of use, but also something I can actually get some mileage out of with performing/recording should I take to it. It seems like the Microkorg, Korg Minilogue, Novation Boss Station, among others, are some that tend to get mentioned when looking for your basic, foundational synth (the Korg Vulca Beats and Vulca Bass also seem like steals for the price, though they're not really similar to those others).

I'm now the proud owner of a Line 6 DL4 (the green machine). These shits have only increased in price through the years. Bastards etc.

Never messed around with one but plenty of folks have used them to great effect (no pun intended), Bill Frisell etc

Reggie Watts is the OG as far as I'm concerned.

And if you don't like Watts, you're wrong.

Not sure if this is new or even news - Funny Little Boxes released a pedal called "1991" that aims to recreate the tones of Ten.

Went on a little cheap gear splurge and got one of those cheapo “IYV” mustang clones and a Sonicake distortion pedal. Hopefully the guitar is at least marginally playable out of the box

Main decision is tremolo or not...

ORDERED!

Purchased online via Pro Audio Star for less than Guitar Center’s price. I am pretty excited about this.
I am strongly considering adding a Bigsby to this

Bammer, fuck the trem. You'll never use it.

Beautiful guitar by the way.

Adding a Bigsby to an inexpensive Indonesian Gretsch seems kind of mad.

You'll end up paying around half as much (maybe more) for the Bigsby and installation as you did the guitar in the first place.

I hear you.

Similar guitar models equipped with Bigsby were about $150 more. That is about how much a Bigsby costs on its own. I was planning to install myself, so I about break even.

I think it looks cool. And I bought this particular Gretsch (over other relatively similar models) because I love the color.

Click the link? It’s a silver/grey semi-hollow Gretsch
