The funny thing about the vaccines is that the relevant EU health authorities are generally better than the FDA. Most drug trials occur in the EU because its more painful/ expensive to do in the US.

If whats been reported is accurate, the jockeying among member states was the main cause of the delay. The EU has absolute authority to establish a safe limit of cinnamon in baked goods, but must get 28 or whatever member states to agree on vaccine pricing.

Yup. Another win for the socialist NHS
Rather than contracting out the campaign to private companies or building it from scratch, as it did with its costly, ineffective contact tracing operation, the government has put vaccination in the hands of the National Health Service.

Would there be any other distribution channel? Its not like they can chose between private pharmacies like CVS and Riteaid. They don't have private sector choices as they've crowded them out.

The difference between them and the EU is they appproved the vaccine earlier and didn't waste time dithering over price.

Its a victory of the NHS as a single nation entity.

To be fair the track n trace wasn’t designed or even interfaced with the NHS. A multibillion pound contract handed to a random company who were a contact of Cummings. And it didn’t and still doesn’t work properly. Thousands of contact tracers sitting idle all day up until recently.
Tories have been slashing NHS funding for the past decade in order for it to fall apart and justify selling it. Which they’re in the early stages of doing. The next stage is blame the mismanagement of track n trace and vaccine disasters in nursing homes on the nhs.
It’s happening in plain view but good luck getting British media to look at it.

Well the inevitable has happened and there’s rioting in the streets of Belfast.
This article gets a pretty good grasp of it.

The root of this is the border in now in the Irish Sea. This means customs checks. This has already cut off massive drug supply to streets. So loyalist terrorist drug cartels have kids out on the streets doing this.
These are kids doing this With loyalist heavies right there on the street directing them.

Now they need 100,000 truck drivers. Who have all gone back to Europe and ain’t coming back to the uk. Food and fuel shortages and people panic buying in bulk. It’s looking like Christmas is cancelled also as theres no farm labourers to pick produce or work on poultry farms. Gas and electricity prices have skyrocketed and no sign of lowering.
Brexit was a racist anti immigrant project to begin with but it’s really beginning to bite now.
Now offering 5000 temporary visas for immigrant workers... which expire on Christmas Eve. They really fucked this all up. Good thread as an explainer.
