I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I've been watching some Gilly and Keeves on YouTube. Shane Gillis being fired from SNL is the best thing that could have happened to him. He's actually funny!

I just watched a few bits of her standup and actively hated it. But she’s very animated so she could be brilliant with the right writers.

Johnson’s Trump impression is uncanny, probably the closest to the real thing I’ve ever seen.

Haven’t seen any footage of Aristotle yet.
all my mates had the same reaction. i dug the kind of self-immolation she always seems to be playing with

season premiere was consistently good, so there is hope for a better season. of course, they’ve had all summer to come up with some of the jokes.

Agreed. I thought the Cars sketch was good.

The premiere was fine; solid episodes with some chuckles and no truly bad sketches.
I’m curious how the Kim Kardashian episode will go next week.

I expected the Senate hearing on social media this week to be one of the first two sketches. It opened and was probably the best live one of the evening. Aidy as Ted Cruz always makes me laugh. Was that the first time Pete got the “Live from New York” line to himself?
I wanted to hate Kim Kardashian but she was serviceable and did better than expected reading the teleprompter for her monologue. There was actually a few pretty good lines sprinkled in too.
She was covered from the neck down for the monologue but the famous KK curved were on display when she played Jasmine in an Aladdin themed sketch.
I liked the Grown Ass Women pretaped video. The idea has been done before but still funny and valid. I also liked Kim and Aidy switching places, mostly because of Aidy. The People’s Kourt was pretty good too, even if I didn’t get a lot of the Kardashian jokes. Speaking of “a lot” there was a lot of cameos this episode, some I knew and some I didn’t.
Update was okay. I didn’t like the movie critic on LSD at first but he got some laughs and was probably the best thing about the segment.
While not a great episode by any means it was far from the disaster it could have been when I saw the list of initial hosts.

I think this was better than the season premiere. Kim K was ok and a lot of what made this work was the cast around her. A lot of joke towards her family and interesting to see she was cool with doing that.

Weekend Update is usually the strongest segment of SNL. It worked well except for the life coach.

Why does Halsey do that thing when she's singing where it looks like she's trying to pop her jaw every other word?

They’ve been on before? Didn’t recognize any of them.
