Has always been a highlight for me from that album, along with Unemployable. A song where the catharsis feels real and earned.

Army Reserve should be a song I love, but i've never fully embraced it. I think the verses are really powerful, but the chorus feels disconnected - like they belong in another song. Marker has the same issue for me on that album - a song that doesn't quite exceed the sum of its parts, though I like Marker more.

I get this. You can definitely hear a bit of a seam between the verses and the chorus (I tend to feel the opposite--I really love the chorus and it makes up for kinda ho-hum (to me) verses).

One of my favs from the album, mainly because of the groove....its a groove we hadnt heard since Vs maybe? Its huge and i love it.

Also, the guitars are wonderful...the only weak spot might be Ed´s performance, which is good enough anyway.

Outside of the run of the first 3 songs, where it works, Ed's vocal choices hold this album back a bit. I get them as a response to Riot Act, and I loved that at the time, but it hasn't aged. I think he strikes the right balance on Lightning Bolt (production choices aside), where a song like MYM sounds muscular without being too stretched

yeah, i agree with that and i blame it on the production. He should have relied more on some other production choices...ey, the whole album could have benefit from that.

The Spotify Mix helps a lot with all of that.

The band said it a lot and i agree with them that ST has an approach on the sound, the groove and ferocity they hadnt done since Vs.
