Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

The best place to start is with Dr. No, the first movie, and watch at least the first three through Goldfinger. However, if you do not wish to sit through all the movies, there are some lesser ones, that are skippable. And if you just want to watch a few modern movies, it’s no problem to just watch the Daniel Craig movies.
This isn’t the wrong approach. Those first three are great. And I know you don’t give a shit about fidelity to the source, Joe, but Connery’s Bond is an excellent adaptation of the Bond Fleming wrote and those first three movies are good adaptations of the books. Casino Royale and Craig would be included here as well.

The Moore movies are for the most part, all forgettable with the exception of The Spy Who Loved Me. His Bond feels more like the Fleming Bond in it but the story isn’t faithful to the novel at all. Other than that, Moore’s Bond is too tongue-in-cheek and cutesy.

As I mentioned before, Dalton was an excellent Bond and positive closest to the Fleming Bond. The two movies he was in were just poor vehicles for him. I did enjoy them more than the Moore movies, tho.

I, personally, liked Brosnan in the role. I had liked him in Remington Steele and thought he was a good Bond. Goldeneye was by far the best and one of the best Bond movies, but the others are forgettable.

Craig is an excellent Bond. Casino Royale is top three Bond movie. The rest of his movies are enjoyable and better than all the Moores and all the lesser Brosnans and the Daltons. You can’t really go wrong with them.

Ranking Bonds:

Connery
Craig
Dalton
Brosnan
Moore
Lazenby (didn’t really have a chance to go higher)

Did I even see Spectre? I have no memory of it all. Maybe I didn't see it.

No I'm sure I've seen it. Watching the trailer I remember the Mexico scene and Dave Bautista...

A Tom Cruise little fest

Mission Impossible Fallout.

Man, what a wonderful movie. Looks awesome, the action scenes are out of this world, the cast is so fucking gloriooussss...Henry Cavill best movie.

Knight & Day.

Whats fun about this one is the premise of basically have good action scenes in very different backgrounds (the plane scene, the train scene, the car chase scene). Cruise and Diaz share a good chemistry and the direction is super solid.

Some shit called Outlander from 2008 starring Jesus Christ himself. Vikings vs aliens. Too formulaic to be enjoyable schlock.

CG monster, Heroic white savior gone native, Generic British King guy, tough-as-any-man yet beautiful Strong Female Character™, asshole second in command warrior dude who begrudgingly comes to respect the hero... It's all just boring as fuck.

Your dad would like it though.

Miss Sloane.

Yeah, that was fun. Man, i love those political thrillers with a strong character. Specially if its played by Jessica Chastain. She is wonderful.
