Well done! That's awesome.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:wasn't sure what to expect, but told myself 4 miles at 40:00 would be nice...i tried to go at a moderate pace and as always my first mile was faster than the next two, but my body felt good and i was able to turn it up a bit on the 4th mile running hard near the end...ended up finishing at 39:42 and didn't even feel that winded afterward

Re: The Running Thread
Currently sitting in an urgent care waiting for shoulder and chest x-rays after a nasty fall on a pre-dawn run this morning.
I was shuffling my feet a little and didn't see a huge chunk of uneven sidewalk in the dark. Went flying, arms in front of me, and landed directly on my right elbow shooting some massive impact shock up my forearm and into my shoulder.
I'm so depressed about the possibility of having to sit a few weeks out if this turns out to be a disclocation or fracture. I have limited mobility in my arm RN. :/

Re: The Running Thread
The running thread is as up and down as the sport itself, doug. Lenny's success in the grand scheme of things comes at a cost I have stepped up to pay.

Re: The Running Thread
I don't really care how fast I run. I just run to avoid an eventual heart attack or stroke. I can achieve those results with a 12-13 minute mile.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:that was me before 2020B wrote:I couldn't run a 9min/mi pace for 30 feet.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Just a sprain
Ice, antobiotics for the abrasions, 800 mg ibuprofen and a head lamp for next time, whenever that is.
Thanks for the support, running thread.

What were you listening to at the time? Smashing Pumpkins would've protected you.

Re: The Running Thread
Ribs are more sore today than a few days ago. Compression of any kind hurts at about a 6/10 pain scale. What's up with that? No running for me tomorrow AM.
