Movie: Quantum of Solace

This is underrated. Although it’s really more of an extended coda to Casino Royale and setup for what Spectre could have been.

Terrible hotel design with those fuel cells, though. Never a good idea to make a building out of gas.

Saw it yesterday. Not sure if it was for the second or third time ever. I remember it as a fun action movie, but the story annoyed me more this time. Having just seen all the Bond movies leading up to this one, I would say it’s a mid or lower tier Bond. The modern look and effects helps a little though.

I enjoyed this fine. Not the best Bond but still fun.

I typically go to the IMDB trivia section for a movie after I watch it (I rewatched Quantum yesterday). I was stunned to read it was the most expensive Bond film ever made at $225 million -- my surprise driven mainly by its relatively short running time. But said running time is pretty packed with action. And how about that opera sequence? That sequence is how I picture Spectre meetings -- not that amateur shitshow in No Time to Die.

I also really enjoy Greene going apeshit at the end while the hotel is burning down around them.
