To make a long story short, it's quite possible that along all sustainable lines -- economic, environmental, and social -- a locally-produced grass-fed burger is possibly less negatively impactful than a veggie burger grown across multiple locations, processed in one state, and then packaged and shipped to another state.

that's interesting. i always wonder when i'm on the grocery aisle if it's better to buy organic, non-GMO cheese that might be produced in Wisconsin, or a local non-organic cheese that's produced 80 miles away.
