I am still spending lots of time with Strand of Oaks’ In Heaven. I find this album very enjoyable.

It's nice. Doesn't live up to his last IMO.liebzz wrote:I am still spending lots of time with Strand of Oaks’ In Heaven. I find this album very enjoyable.

Mastodon - Hushed and Grim
Pretty underwhelming, which is to be expected at this point. Not terrible, but a little derivative and samey. There are attempts at grandiose, winding epics that just seem to meander before falling flat more often than not.
It could be a grower. I'll give it some more time.

I felt the same at first, but as I listen more I like it more and more. No, it’s not Eraserland, but then again not much else is.LetMeSleep wrote:It's nice. Snail Mail’s Valentine is better than Phoebe Bridgers’ Punisher.
There. I said it.

It doesn't hit the same highs for me but I like it a lot. Good progression for her

He's just comparing albums. One came out this year, the other last year.dad wrote:Punisher released in 2020 tho.

comparing albums that released in different years is not allowed in a thread meant for one year.

Re: Albums of 2021
tbh, I’ve not given serious listens to Punisher or Valentine.
I’m playing Valentine right now, sort of a passive listen while I’m outside with the dog. c. et al. made me stop and play again.
Snail Mail’s EP is a favorite of mine. gonna be hard to top that.
