Re: The Stone Temple Pilots Thread
they always had a very weird relationship. I wouldt say those recording were remembered fondly by the band...it was basically their first breakup.
I saw them super happy and good in the 2008 and 2011 shows i saw.

Sorry. It's a reference to an old Penn's Peak commerical. You had to be there.i got bugs wrote:I'm lost on thisWendy Carlos's Twin wrote:The back is a lot like the front.i got bugs wrote:Going to see these guys next month in a small venue near me called penns peak.. can't wait, one of my fav places

he sounds good, almost exactly the same that Scott. Its weird, i dont think STP needed that, but at the same time, these guys havent done a good album since the self titled so who knows.
I havent listened to Perdida, but im guessing its boring

Perdida is a good idea, the first 3-4 songs are nice but it becomes a bit tiresome.
I didn’t mind the last two albums.
Peacoat is one of my fav STP songs

I really love STP but I refuse to acknowledge anything post Scott. I don't like how they have some guy up there pretending to be scott. It weirds me out. If they got someone totally different I would be into it. But not this way.

when I first saw Gutt with them in 2018 I remember thinking I hope he finds his own thing on stage and not ape Scott so much...he's only amped it up since, which is the most disappointing thing about the show
but goddamn they sounded good...Eric Kretz is a damned beast

I did say that to my buddy last night.. the only thing he misses is Scott's stage presence.. he tries to imitate the dances but its like slo mo scott.. then again he's not putting into his body what Scott was on, so I guess it's not such a bad thing after allMattA75 wrote:saw them Friday night, it was a really fun showi got bugs wrote:Thought they put on a really good show last night..

I was honestly hoping the Deleos would talk to him and have him stop but no dice...they probably are just happy to have a guy who can sing the songs well and able to go out and make money touringi got bugs wrote:I did say that to my buddy last night.. the only thing he misses is Scott's stage presence.. he tries to imitate the dances but its like slo mo scott.. then again he's not putting into his body what Scott was on, so I guess it's not such a bad thing after allMattA75 wrote:saw them Friday night, it was a really fun showi got bugs wrote:Thought they put on a really good show last night..
