I've seen this high on many UK AOTY lists. I tried (and will listen again) but it didn't stick with me although it is truly quite a listen. Joey, you should hear this for sure.
I was kind of worried it would veer a little bit too much in the Sonic Youth territory for you. I never really got much feedback from those mixtapes I made you. Kind of assumed you'd be turned off by the noisier segments of Drive.
Upon further consideration, I see that it's produced by someone with TWOD on their resume. Sorry for leaving you out of that CC.

I haven't had a new album hit me so immediately in a long time, yet it begs for deeper listens. I hear Sonic Youth and Nico, but it's definitely its own thing more than those influences I listed.

I’ve given this some thought. I liked a lot of albums this year, but really there’s probably 5 I am going to end up continuing to take with me far in 2022, in no particular order:
My Morning Jacket
Strand of Oaks - In Heaven
War on Drugs - I Don’t Live Here Anymore
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats - The Future
Yola - Stand For Myself
There are other releases I really enjoyed at different points but these are the ones I keep listening to on repeat.
