It's easy to see why people would hate Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, but I kind of loved it...or about 60% of it.

I get that they were going for an absurd mishmash, stoner comedy kind of thing, but the cartoony super villain stuff just didn't work and wasn't very funny. However, I thoroughly enjoyed everything with Barb and Star and their back and forth banter.

It is called Canoa: A Shameful Memory

You should all watch this movie, it is Mexican and very good
i will! have the week off, going to watch a perverse number of movies
Enjoy your time off.
thanks, friend

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I loved this back in the day, even owned it on VHS. But I'm scared I might hate it now so I'm just gonna let the memory hold me until I die
I can see that. I’ve probably seen it 3 times, but that’s been years ago.

House of Gucci

This fucking suuuuuuuucked. Gaga and Driver are fine, but they deserved a lot better than this.

- I could swear scenes are missing. Characters change completely from scene to scene with no motivation.
Spoiler: show
One minute Gaga Gucci is a golddigger, next a loving wife, next powerhungry, next weepy pathetic mess. No explanation given. It's just multiple characters mixed together.
- Scott is one of the greatest visual directors of all time, but this movie is an eye sore. I thought something was wrong with the projector or something. It's nearly black and white, and the values are so close together that the whole movie is painfully gray. Just awful.

- this movie needed some Scorsese to add some bite and keep this thing moving. It can't decide if it wants to be a comedy or epic, but the result is a plodding mess with some out of place comedy.

- Jared Leto is a war criminal against acting. He should be killed.

- Pacino was much funnier, and kinda sad. I liked him.

This is right on, though I'd take most of the 'u's out of "suuuuuuuuuucked" and change the F+ to a C-. I'm glad you included Gaga alongside Driver as an actor that deserved better. If you told me ten years ago that Lady Gaga would be an actor that I would want to see anything she does, I don't think I would have believed you. But it's happened!

Thanks for the warning, guys. I am kinda jonesing to go the theater. Hopefully there are better options on the horizon. Was supposed to see Ghostbusters earlier in the week, but didn't feel good. I wasn't overly excited anyway.
