Well I love it in both places. I think it's pretty essential to start GSMF off that way to help establish the happy grunge/genre inversion it's going for.

That's a good take on it. I'd like to buy it.stip wrote:Well I love it in both places. I think it's pretty essential to start GSMF off that way to help establish the happy grunge/genre inversion it's going for.

My appreciation of this song is rising. It's a good title track.

I always liked it, but apart from Sirens, it's got the most studio polish of any track so far. That's what was holding it back. But I'm starting to appreciate it fwiw.

Why does Ed pronounce "a" as "o-uh" in this? It annoys me.

I can't decide if Ed is dressing up as Bruce for Halloween in a few weeks or if that is just really how he looks nowharmless wrote:I still can't help thinking of Springsteen's "Born in the USA" with that keyboard melody on the outro. I can't decide whether that makes the song cheesier, or just lends it more timelessness for being a Springsteen homage. Probably both.

Re: New Song: Lightning Bolt
the start of the outro music (after the 'they won't die with you' lyric) reminds me of electric church bells.

Too much buildup in the song. I keep thinking Unthought Known when I listen.
